I rarely have a lot to say about the books I loved, and this one is no different, but you should definitely read it!
It contains of 9 stories about black women, who all kinda wanna or should go to church but there’s just something too human in them that the church doesn’t approve of. However, I found the church to be just a tiny point and not the main focus of any of the stories. Almost just like a teeny tiny prop and nothing more.
Each story was told with such care and so much personality and uniqueness, in different voices, which is often difficult for writers, I found, who publish collections of stories told from different perspectives.
Truly an amazing read.
Bottom line: Read this book.
